 The Mystic's
« Thread Started on Mar 4, 2004, 2:11am »

Mystics are the oldest race in existence on the planet Earth, and also the most important in the history of the Earth. The Mystics are a warrior race by nature as they had been bred to fight and survive the harshness of the world with no luxury or comfort or even with any companions. Unlike the Human race that developed to work together and the creation of machines to help them survive since they lacked the innate abilities to access the power of the elements. Mystics are a magical warrior race that the orgins of have been lost over the years.

The last Mystic Tribe can be found around the area of Cairo, Egypt. It is a unnamed tribe and they live in secret protecting the pyramids and the secrets they hold of the Mystic race and the orgin of it all.

A mystic or even half mystic is a natural fighter even if they have never picked up a weapon or raised a fist in their life. It activates when they are in danger and can do amazing things without even a thought of what he or she is doing. Each Mystic was born to use one weapon, and one alone and usually finds themselves going through a great many trials to find out what weapon that is. There is much history with in the mystic race. But the group of six Mystic Elders keep it sealed up...only they know the real truth of it all.

Each mystic is strong in one specific ability in magic.

Janus for example is powerful in spiritual magic, making him actually seem more human than most Mystics. As most Mystics are inable of really feeling as much emotions as humans because magic has made them numb to many of the emotions that most experience. Although the greatest emotion they are capable of feeling is love.

There is a lot of set backs and things that have to happen for a mystic to realize their power or potential. Its why in mystic society they are encouraged to spar and test their abilities at any chance they can, but few actually unlock any of their greatest powers.

For a Mystic to truely unlock there ability they have to be in a situation that is not only tragic but life threatning to them or someone close to them. Then they will subconsciously use their ability to help them...note that the event has to need the ability to be used or it won't unlock it. (Note: If you are a Mystic you must have the situation and event approved before you can gain a big or powerful ability. Any further questions please send to Janus Valerian)

Unlike regular Wizards, Mystics can combine their strength to someone else, such as giving someone enough power to move or double the strength of a spell.

For example, if Janus and Adara were in a situation where Adara had to use her elven magic to get them out of a situation, Janus could channel his strength through her to increase its effectiveness double or even much more than that depending on how attuned Janus is to the person he is giving his strength too. However, after such a thing a mystic could be very vulnerable and weak.

But as a side effect after giving so much strength the spell could have a permanment effect on the mystic that could one day be lethal...but could have an opposite effect and could make the mystic stronger.

The power of a mystic can be looked at as if it was a double edged sword. On one side the mystic has access to extremely powerful magic, but on the flip side it has the potential to slowly eat away at the Mystic's soul. Only a Mystic with pure intentions can unlock some of the most powerful spells without having his soul destroyed in the process. However, if a mystic gave in to their desires and used a powerful spell, they could become twisted and have the basic being of who they are disappear. None has ever recovered from such a fall.
