He wasn't sure what made it all right, but everything in this job was described as all right. Maybe Janus was wrong to go into the Department of Mysteries. It didn't fit him at all...no it never did...but what was he going to do? Janus never had a reason of his own. He never tried...he only followed...his sister was always the one to make him feel better...the only one.
He sat down in his desk (probably the one good thing about his job) and looked over at the single picture of his sister on his desk. He sighed heavily...
"I should have listened to you..."
Then a man came up to his desk looking down at Janus. "Janus Valerian..."
"Do you need something?" he raised an eyebrow.
"I believe your the one whom wants something from me," the man stated.
"I think you better explain what your doing here," Janus said a little demanding.
"I'm here to give you a proposition," he said.
"And that is?"
"One that will change your life..."

Change my life? Janus didn't know what it was with this guy but, Janus had a strange feeling that the man wasn't lying. But Janus rarely trusted anyone asides from his sister. And he had no real reason for it either.
"You have five minutes..."
"I'm here to present you with a life time opprotunity, Mr. Valerian. A chance to prove to the entire Wizarding World that you mean something," the man said.
"Keep going," Janus raised his eyebrow, this had caught his attention. It was something that he wanted, something that would make his name known. Something that would catch other people's attention.
"There is a ruby in a temple deep in the forest of Cambodia. But it is no ordinary ruby, it is told that the ruby holds the power beyond what we know. I have no way of getting there...and in my state could not survive anything I come against, seeing as I am a squib. But you would have no problem in retrieving it," the man put the folder on his desk. "All the details of its location is in that folder. All you simply have to do is go there and retrieve the ruby."
"What kind of power does it hold?"
"It's not really known...its more of a myth then actual fact really, but there is a good reason for that..."
"And that is..."
"If you want to know more, meet me at the Leaky Cauldron. I'll answer all your questions then," the man quickly turned and left, leaving the folder on his desk.

“Talk about mysterious people,” he rolled his eyes before turning his attention to the folder. For some reason he was intrigued by the man’s offer. After all it was the only thing that was important to him…acceptance. All his life it was all he had wanted, and had never gotten it. Maybe a few ‘good job’ or something when it came to school, but outside of that, no one as much had ever talked to him, and because of that reason he had almost all ready made up his mind on the decision. He flipped open the folder and as he did so he saw many pictures unfold to him. Pictures of a grand temple…an ancient temple, where plants and wildlife was abundant and grew with the temple, but Janus could also sense the great magic that came from these pictures. Something that could not be expressed by words…and had to be seen with your own eyes. And what he felt was a very underlining feeling. The Leaky Cauldron wasn’t that far from the office…Janus wasn’t going to wait around anymore. Determined he got to his feet and headed out the door, he had nothing to lose by doing this. His sister was at Hogwarts and wouldn’t even know that anything would happen. It couldn’t be dangerous…it least it didn’t seem possible.
